How can we help?

The questions managers and employees ask most often. If you can't find what you need, contact us anytime.

Getting started

From creating a workplace to your first QR

How do I get started?
  1. Sign in with a Google, Kakao or NAVER account.
  2. Create a workplace under My workplaces. A setup wizard walks you through the location, clock-in radius and working hours.
  3. Add your employees and put up the clock-in QR on site. That's it.

Up to 10 employees is free, so you can start without a credit card.

How do I add employees?

Add them one at a time with a name and PIN under Employees on the manager screen, or upload a CSV file to add many at once. You can later download the list as CSV, edit details such as department or shift group, and upload it again.

If you turn on employee self-registration on the QR screen, employees can apply themselves and a manager approves them.

What's the difference between a fixed QR and a dynamic QR?

A fixed QR is printed once and stays on the wall. It's the simplest option, and the location check (GPS) confirms employees are on site.

A dynamic QR is shown on a tablet or monitor and changes every 60 seconds by default. Because it's hard to photograph and share, it adds another layer against buddy punching.

Can other managers use it too?

Yes. Create an invite link on the manager screen and send it, and another manager can run the same workplace with you. Important settings such as deleting the workplace or changing the plan can only be changed by the workplace owner.

Can I look around before using it for real?

Choose Demo in the top menu to click through the manager screen without signing up. The demo uses sample data dated around today.

Clocking in

How employees use it every day

How do employees clock in?
  1. Point the phone's built-in camera at the workplace QR and tap the link that appears.
  2. Sign in once with name and PIN.
  3. Tap Clock in. The location is checked at that moment and the time is recorded.

There's no app to install.

I tapped Clock in by mistake.

Right after recording, tap Tapped by mistake? Undo to cancel it yourself within 5 minutes. After that, send an attendance correction request or ask your manager to fix it.

I forgot to clock out.

If your workplace has auto clock-out turned on, you're clocked out at your scheduled end time once it is an hour past. If you actually left at a different time, send an attendance correction request.

Can I clock out the next day after a night shift?

Yes. Even after midnight, the clock-out is recorded against the shift that started the day before. Just tap Clock out as usual.

Do I have to scan the QR every time?

If your workplace uses a fixed QR, you can add the QR screen to your home screen and open it like an app. On iPhone use the Share button in Safari; on Android use the Chrome menu, then tap “Add to Home Screen”. A dynamic QR must be scanned fresh each time to confirm you're on site.

I'd like clock-in reminders.

Under More at the bottom of the QR screen, tap Turn on reminders and allow notifications. On iPhone, first add the QR screen to your home screen, then turn on notifications from the home screen icon.

Location checks

When GPS doesn't work

It says “Couldn't check your location”.

This is usually a permission issue. Check the following in order:

  • Location services are on in your phone settings
  • Your browser (Safari, Chrome, Samsung Internet) has location permission
  • Wi-Fi or mobile data is on

If you denied permission before, change pocketwork.org's location setting to “Allow” in your browser's site permissions and try again.

I'm at work but it says I'm outside the radius.

GPS can be less accurate indoors or underground. Try again near a window or the entrance. If it keeps happening, a manager can reset the location or widen the radius a little in Workplace settings (20 m to 2 km).

Can employees clock in somewhere other than the main location?

Extra work sites beyond the main location are currently available only to workplaces on an existing Plus or Pro license, and are coming to subscriptions soon. Clocking in anywhere inside one of those radiuses is recorded, along with which site it was.

Is location checked at clock-out too?

By default, both clock-in and clock-out are checked. A workplace can choose to skip the check at clock-out, in which case the record shows it was processed without a location check.

Sign-in & accounts

PIN, social sign-in, staying signed in

I keep getting signed out.

You stay signed in until you sign out yourself. If you still see the sign-in screen, it's usually because the page opened in a different browser.

  • The camera app, KakaoTalk and the NAVER app can each open QR links in a different browser. Sign-in is saved per browser, so always scan the QR the same way.
  • On iPhone, an icon added to the home screen keeps a separate sign-in from Safari.
  • Private browsing, clearing cookies or phone cleaner apps remove the sign-in.

You'll also need to sign in again if a manager changes your PIN or sets you to inactive.

I forgot my PIN.

Ask your manager to reset it. Once they enter a new PIN under Employees, you can sign in with it right away. For security, browsers you signed in on before are signed out.

I want to sign in with Kakao or NAVER.

You can if your workplace allows social sign-in. The first time, enter your name and PIN, then tap the Kakao or NAVER button to link your account. After that, the button alone is enough.

What if two employees have the same name?

A workplace can't have two active employees with the same name. The manager can tell them apart, for example “Minsu Kim A”, or set a separate sign-in ID.

It says “This account is inactive”.

A manager has set this employee to inactive. If you're working there again, ask the manager to reactivate you. Your past clock-in records are kept.

Leave, schedules & requests

How employee requests get approved

Where can I see my schedule?

Open Schedule on the QR screen to see this month's shifts, days off and leave. Changes a manager makes appear right away.

How do I request leave?

In Request leave, enter the dates, leave type and reason, then submit. If your workplace uses department approval, your department head reviews it first and the manager gives final approval. Check the result under the bell icon (inbox) at the top of the QR screen.

I want to cancel a leave request.
  • If it's not approved yet, you can withdraw it yourself. A request you just sent can also be cancelled within 5 minutes.
  • For approved leave, you can send a cancellation request before the start date. Once approved, the leave is cancelled.
  • Approved leave that has already started can't be cancelled by the employee. Ask your manager to adjust it.
How is my remaining annual leave calculated?

If your workplace turns on automatic annual leave, statutory leave is granted from your hire date and leave you take is deducted. Grants and adjustments made by a manager are kept in the history. Check Leave balance on the QR screen.

How do I request overtime or an attendance correction?

Enter the date and hours in Log overtime. Overtime that runs past midnight is supported. If a clock-in or clock-out time was recorded wrong, send an attendance correction request and the manager will review and apply it.

Running your workplace

Daily checks and month-end

Where can I see who's late today?

The Dashboard on the manager screen shows who has clocked in, who's working, who has left, who's running late, and requests waiting for you.

Can I build a monthly schedule quickly?

In Schedule, enter an order like “day, day, night, off” in Quick pattern fill and a month is filled from the date you pick. Public holidays are marked automatically, and you can download to Excel or upload a CSV in one go.

Can I edit clock-in records myself?

Yes. Click a cell in Attendance records or the monthly attendance grid to change the time. The change history keeps who changed what, and when.

How do I get month-end attendance data?

In Attendance records, pick a month and download the CSV timesheet for payroll or your files.

I want to post a notice on the employee screen.

Use Post notice at the top of the dashboard to write a notice that appears at the top of the employee QR screen.

I want to know right away when someone is late.

In Workplace settings, tap Turn on manager alerts and allow notifications. You'll be alerted when an employee passes their start time and 10 minutes before a shift.

New leave and overtime requests don't send alerts, so check Pending approval on the dashboard.

How do I handle an employee who has left?

Don't delete them. Set them to inactive instead. They're signed out immediately and their past records are kept. Inactive employees don't use a seat, so you can add a new employee in their place.

Pricing, payment & refunds

How pricing and refunds work

How is the price calculated?

Each workplace gets up to 10 employees free. To use more, choose the total number of seats for the workplace; only the seats above 10 are billed at ₩1,500 per seat per month (tax included, a launch special, discounted from ₩3,000). For example, a 20-seat subscription is 10 extra × ₩1,500 = ₩15,000 a month. The price does not change when employees leave; it changes only when you change your seats. Use the calculator on the Pricing page for an exact figure.

How do I pay?

Sign in, go to Account > License, choose the seats for your workplace and pay by card. Paddle, our Merchant of Record, processes the payment, renews it monthly on the same date and emails you the receipt.

Can I add or remove seats mid-period?

Yes. Adding seats charges the prorated amount for the rest of the current period right away and applies immediately; if the payment fails, the seats are not added. Removing seats keeps your current seats until the period ends and applies the lower number and price from the next billing date; you can withdraw it before then. Going down to 10 switches the workplace to free on the next billing date.

Can I get a refund?

You can request a refund within 14 days of a payment or renewal. We review the payment and your usage and refund either the full amount or the unused period. Duplicate charges, incorrect amounts, charges after cancellation, and periods you couldn't use because of an outage on our side are refunded regardless of timing.

Email [email protected] with your account email, workplace name, payment date, Paddle order number and the reason. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method through Paddle. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.

What happens when I cancel?

Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep using the service as before until the end of the period you paid for, then move to the free plan. If you have more than 10 active employees you can't activate new ones, but existing employees and records stay as they are.

Anything to do before ending a subscription?

Download the clock-in and attendance data you need as CSV first. Deleting a workplace or account is separate from cancelling, and deleted records can't be restored.

Privacy & location data

What is stored, and when

Do you track location during work?

No. Location is checked only once, at the moment an employee taps Clock in or Clock out. We don't collect location during the shift.

What location data is stored?

The coordinates, accuracy, distance to the workplace and the result at the time of clock-in or clock-out are stored as evidence for that record. They're deleted when the workplace is deleted or the service agreement ends.

I want my information deleted.

Attendance records belong to the workplace, so ask your workplace's manager first. You can request account deletion at [email protected]. See our Privacy Policy and Location Terms for details.
