POCKETWORK LOCATION POLICY
Location Terms
PocketWork does not track location continuously. It uses the browser's location permission only at the moment you clock in or out, to confirm you are near the workplace.
Effective: August 20, 2026 · Last updated: August 11, 2026
1. Purpose
These terms set out how PocketWork uses location data to confirm clock-ins, the rights of the people whose location is used, and our responsibilities as the service provider.
2. About us
- Service: PocketWork
- Operator and location data officer: GyeongGwan Nam
- Address: 4F, 26 Hancheon-ro 14-gil, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea
- Location and privacy questions: [email protected]
3. How location is collected, and what
When you allow location access in your browser and ask to clock in or out, we may receive coordinates and accuracy through the browser's Geolocation API. When the clock-in is processed, the coordinates, workplace identifier, time, and distance to the workplace or the check result may be stored with the clock-in record.
4. Why it is used
Location data is used only to confirm that a clock-in or clock-out request was made near the workplace, to create and show clock-in records, and to prevent misuse. It is not used to track movement during work or for advertising.
5. How long it is kept
Once a clock-in is processed, the coordinates, accuracy, distance and check result are stored as evidence for that record until the workplace is deleted or the service agreement ends. Even when a clock-in is refused, for example because it was outside the radius, the check result may remain in the audit log to prevent misuse and to resolve disputes. When a deletion request is processed, the data is removed from the live database; data the law requires us to keep, or that remains in backups, is deleted when that purpose or the backup cycle ends.
6. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell location data or provide it for advertising. We use Railway infrastructure to run the application and store data, and workplace coordinates without personal identifiers may be sent to map and weather providers for workplace setup and weather display. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
7. Your choice and withdrawing consent
You can choose not to share location by not using clock-in features that need it, or by denying location permission in your browser. You can withdraw permission anytime in your browser or operating system settings; clock-in features that require a location check will then be unavailable. Even if a workplace skips the location check at clock-out, other actions such as clock-in may still require it.
8. Your rights
You can ask for records of how your location data was used or shared, an explanation of the purpose and retention period, and to access, correct, delete or stop processing clock-in records that contain your location. If full deletion would conflict with another person's rights or a legal retention duty, we will explain why it is limited. Send requests to [email protected].
9. Security
We protect location data from loss, theft, leakage and alteration with clock-in QR codes and employee authentication, workplace permission checks, encryption in transit, access restrictions, request and error logs, backup management, and workplace data isolation tests.
10. Changes and contact
If the law or how we handle location changes, we will post the effective date and the changes on this page, and give 30 days' notice of important changes that are unfavorable to you. Send location questions to [email protected].
